1776 Values and Today
At great personal risk, 56 men stood up for all Americans and signed their names to the Declaration of Independence. It was adopted on July 4, 1776, and a new nation, The United States of America, was born. On December 15, 1791 The Bill of Rights (The first 10 Amendments) became law. This, along with other amendments passed by our Founding Fathers, guarantees our freedoms as Americans. Here is the American Dream of our Founding Fathers in a few of these amendments:
Complacency faces America today. Most citizens are uninformed and unmotivated to question the actions of our politicians. Our freedoms are, as they were in 1776, threatened by our unwillingness to act. 1776 American Dream shares the values of our Founding Fathers. Our mission
is to demonstrate how America is drifting away from these values, and
show citizens how they can let their voices be heard. |
